The Life Support Systems (LSS) team of AMS Group is responsible for maintaining aerial droppable Search and Rescue (SAR) equipment that supports approximately 10% of the Earth's surface.
We have been long-time contractors for the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) and are responsible for maintaining a wide range of rotary wing and fixed wing deployable equipment. This includes life rafts, pumps, parachutes, and communications equipment for over 70 contracted aviation units across Australia and the Antarctic.
AMS Group has a significant role in supporting search and rescue operations and ensuring the safety of aviation units and personnel in Australia and the Antarctic.
Our LSS team maintains the UNI-PAC III system on behalf of the Australian Defence Force's Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). This system is deployed from the bomb bays of the P-8 Poseidon aircraft and is considered the most complex system of its kind in the world.
The LSS team is entrusted with the maintenance of Air Services Australia's end of runway rescue capability at eleven airport fire stations across Australia. We are responsible for ensuring that the necessary equipment and personnel are ready to respond to emergencies at these locations.
